In Memory of Margie Currier

As A11y Audits takes its first steps, we pause to honor a remarkable individual whose kindness and talent left an indelible mark on our journey - Margie Currier.
Margie and I crossed paths during a challenging time. In the wake of unexpected layoffs at our company, I created a support network for our displaced colleagues. It was during this time that Margie's extraordinary spirit shone through.

When she learned of my vision for A11y Audits and my ineptitude at design, Margie, without hesitation, offered her expertise. Despite our limited interactions - we had never even spoken on the phone - she poured her creativity into shaping the visual identity of this website. Little did I know that this act of generosity would be one of her final gifts to the world.

Margie's sudden passing left all of her colleagues in shock. The realization that her work on this site was among her last earthly acts has imbued our mission with a profound sense of purpose. We believe that Margie's spirit continues to guide us, inspiring us to create a more accessible and compassionate digital world.

In honoring Margie's memory, we've preserved her design vision for this site. Every elegant line and thoughtful layout is a testament to her talent. Any imperfections are solely my own.

Margie's story reminds us of the unseen battles many face and the importance of being there for each other. As we strive to make the web more accessible, we also commit to fostering understanding and support for mental health.

To Margie's family, especially her mother: We hope this tribute brings some comfort. Know that your daughter's kindness and creativity continue to inspire and shape our work. Margie's legacy lives on in every person we help through more accessible technology.

Margie, though our time to know you was brief, your impact is eternal. Your sensitivity and goodness transcended this world. While it's difficult to accept, we take solace in believing that you're at peace, watching over us as we carry forward the important work you helped begin.

May your memory be a blessing and a guiding light in our mission to create a more accessible and compassionate digital world.

Margie Currier, smiling
